July 7, 2006 Update : After a long break!

All I can say is wow! it has been a long time since I last updated the webpage!  There is so much to say that I don't even know where to start.  I think I will work in reverse chronological order...

Becca is due to give birth to our second child any day now. In fact, her due date has come and gone (it was July 7th).  The doctors will induce labor if Becca is still pregnant two weeks after her due date, so I guess whatever happens I will be posting an update to this within two weeks!

The new baby was the perfect excuse to finally buy a house of our own.  We shopped around for the months of November and early December last year and found a cute cape style house in East Granby, CT  (only one town away from Simsbury, where we used to live and where Becca works).  It is on a small property that has a nature preserve on two sides and a cul-de-sac on on the third side.  There is a bunch more room than the apartment...specifically we have three bedrooms, two full baths, a large open kitchen with pass throughs into the livingroom and diningroom.  A half finished basement and a large room that is a combination guest room and office.  We are very happy with the house so far, though there is a lot of little jobs that need to get done before we can settle down and grow old!

Cayleigh is now 2 years and three months old.  She is talking up a storm!  She loves reading books, thinks Little Einsteins (Kids TV show) is as necessary as to life as breathing, plays on the swingset I built her (Lowes Kit) and is a general terror and daily delight.  It will be interesting to see how she responds to the new baby.

I am still working at UCONN.  I am running the Surface Science Laboratory in the Institute of Materials Science.  I am busier than ever with students and projects.  I taught 'Phase Transformation and Kinetics' last year, though this year I am going to be focusing more on research and avoiding the classroom.  I am still running and doing Uechi-Ryu Karate whenever I can find the time...so I am not a complete tub of lard yet.

After the new baby comes I will try to put a more comprehensive description of our live...thanks for stopping by to see what we've been up to!
